Haemonetics Achieves Time Savings And Business Process Efficiencies With Accounts Receivable Automation From Esker

Esker, the leader in document process automation solutions recently announced that it has been selected by medical device manufacturer Haemonetics, the global leader in blood management solutions, to automate the delivery of client invoices. The cloud-based accounts receivable automation solution is designed to provide better tracking of invoice delivery while streamlining business processes for significant time savings.

Before deploying the Esker solution, the Haemonetics accounting department sent nearly 300 invoices each day using a paper-driven process. The daily invoice file was printed, sorted, placed into envelopes and mailed manually. When clients requested electronic delivery of invoices it was also treated as a manual process; individual invoice files were printed electronically, attached to an email and sent out. All told, this process took approximately three hours per day. "Our customers were being well-served, but internally we had a big duplication of effort," says Haemonetics Assistant Corporate Controller Brian Lemberger. "Plus if an invoice was not received by a customer it wasn't possible to determine if or when it was sent."

Haemonetics had been using Esker mail services at their Switzerland-based European Office for several years with great success. After learning of the Esker accounts receivable automation solution, Haemonetics worked quickly to begin its rollout at their Massachusetts-based North American Office. The solution they implemented was customized to fit their exact business needs, including capabilities to automatically send past-due invoices and quarterly statements.

With the Esker solution, Haemonetics has realized significant time savings and efficiency gains. The paper-driven invoicing process that once took hours now takes just minutes a day, creating an annual savings of more than 700 hours. Additionally, the Esker solution created the opportunity to re-allocate resources within the department. Future savings are also anticipated as more Haemonetics customers move to electronic invoice delivery, further reducing the cost of printing and mailing invoices.

"Thanks to Esker, we now have greater visibility into our invoicing process, confidence that our invoices are getting out in a timely fashion and flexibility to deliver invoices through email and fax," says Lemberger. "We have created time savings and have allowed our business to become much more efficient."
