NASSCO issues formal approval of WinCan's 7.0 code implementation.

WinCan, a market leader in sewer asset management software and inspection data storage, was awarded PACP 7.0 and LACP 7.0 certification. This certification, presented to WinCan by the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO), certifies that WinCan VX software has been tested for version 7.0 of the relevant data dictionaries and contains and properly implements codes for both the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program and the Lateral Assessment and Certification Program. This authorization ensures that sewer inspection reports created within WinCan VX may be exported to version 7.0 of the NASSCO Standard Database.

Defect code catalogs provide a consistent, reliable framework for sewer maintenance workers to document and track defects within a collection system. Certification from NASSCO ensures that data produced in one software platform can be easily transferred to another platform without loss. Observation catalogs also provide a method for consistently documenting pipe qualities, allowing system operators to track changes over time.

“PACP and LACP are some of the most widely used sewer defect code catalogs in the United States,” says Mike Russin, general manager for WinCan in the Americas. “Ensuring that our software utilizes these codes properly and can share reports between various software platforms is vital.”

WinCan prides itself on providing powerful, user-friendly sewer asset management software to its customers. Receiving PACP 7.0 and LACP 7.0 certification from NASSCO ensures that it can continue to help its customers achieve their goals.

About WinCan
WinCan was the original pipe inspection and asset management software when it entered the market 25 years ago. Today, it’s the most trusted pipeline software brand worldwide, thanks to continuous innovation and exceptional support. WinCan transforms raw inspection data into the intelligence municipalities and contractors need to make critical maintenance decisions. The software’s measurement tools help to quantify defects, and sophisticated search capabilities filter observations by any combination of criteria. Its report generator automatically summarizes inspection findings using a standard or user-defined template. Native support for GIS mapping, side-scanning and 3D are among WinCan’s most innovative features.

In the Americas, WinCan is uniquely positioned to deliver support, training, customization and integration with all common municipal databases and mapping software programs. WinCan works directly with end users, and also with inspection equipment manufacturers, helping them deliver integrated hardware/software solutions that allow their customers to document, analyze and report pipeline condition.
