Why You Should Keep Up With The Evolution Of Technology In Higher Education

Right before CommunityLIVE, I received another reminder that as technology evolves, I need to work to keep up.
My daughter came home with a piece of paper (note the irony) explaining that her sixth grade teachers are starting an Instagram account to post class pictures throughout the year. The school gave parents the opportunity to opt-out of having their children’s pictures posted online.
Great. I’m not on Instagram. I really don’t need more accounts to log into. And I don’t need to spend more time on social media.
Regardless, I’ll add a new technology to my list this school year. Instagram, here I come!
I don’t want to miss any of these great pictures. And I should at least get up to the speed of my sixth grader in terms of understanding today’s technology.
Because really, I can’t afford to fall behind. That is doubly true for security software upgrades and new applications at work. The list just goes on and on. And I can do it. I’m smart enough. But it can be a challenge.
