Michigan-Based Duperon Corporation CEO Tammy Bernier Honored By Saginaw Valley State University As 2018 Outstanding Alumna

Bernier credits SVSU College of Business and Management for supporting lifelong love of learning

Duperon Corporation CEO Tammy Bernier was presented with the 2018 Outstanding Alumna Award at the Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) Fifth Annual Academia Awards on March 23. The award is presented to a graduate of the College of Business and Management for their service and accomplishment in their field and in their community. Bernier graduated summa cum laude from SVSU College of Business and Management in 1993 and joined her father, Terry Duperon, as partner and co-owner of Duperon Corporation. The company has flourished under this team as Bernier managed the company to an average of 25% growth annually.

"It's an honor to be included among these leaders who are creating opportunity for our community every day," stated Bernier, who encourages developing a passion for lifelong learning. "SVSU is barely recognizable from when I attended. Its growth and beauty are a beacon for us all... to remind us that we always have the decision to expand or remain in status quo. I will be forever grateful for this great institution housed in our backyard that allowed me to work and attend as a non-traditional student." Bernier recognizes the importance of that decision, "SVSU set me up to step into this rapidly changing world, to grow our company and be inspired by a team that makes a difference in the world of water."

Today, Duperon Corporation is an international company that designs, develops, and manufactures preliminary liquids/solids separation technologies for dams, pump stations, wastewater, and industrial applications. Bernier's extensive history of community involvement includes serving on the boards of the Junior League of the Great Lakes Bay Region Community; WWEMA (national Water & Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association); Mid-Michigan Women in Leadership; Child Abuse & Neglect (CAN) Council Great Lakes Bay Region; Saginaw Community Foundation; and Saginaw County Business Education Partnership and the support of many other worthy endeavors.
