Industry Roundtable: Find Opportunity With Open Source

Open source solutions have been making headway for several years, but only recently have they made a bigger impact here in the United States. Loosely defined as free software, the meaning of open source goes well beyond that. In fact, there are 10 rules listed by the Open Source Initiative (www.opensource.org/docs/osd) that define the requirements for a software solution to be considered truly open source. In a nutshell, open source is meant to encourage and promote the sharing of technology, functionality, and expertise for the greater good of the user community.
