Data Protection: SEPATON Appoints Storage Industry Veteran Asim Zaheer As Vice President Of Marketing

SEPATON, Inc., the leader in high-performance data protection solutions, recently announced that storage industry veteran Asim Zaheer has joined the company as vice president of marketing. With more than 15-years experience in leadership marketing and business development roles, Zaheer will be responsible for all marketing on a global basis, including branding and positioning, communications, partner programs and product marketing. Zaheer will play an especially important role in SEPATON's efforts to enhance corporate and product visibility with large enterprises, and to strengthen its partner marketing activities through its established global network of reseller and distribution partners.

Zaheer will report directly to SEPATON President and CEO, Mike Worhach. He succeeds Linda Mentzer who will assume the role of product strategy consultant.

For more than 15 years, Zaheer has held senior marketing positions in the storage industry. He came to SEPATON from Hitachi Data Systems, where he was responsible for Hitachi's Content Archive Platform. He began his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he managed StorageWorks Enterprise product marketing. Zaheer held positions that included vice president of marketing for Storability Software, a provider of storage resource management software and services, as well as vice president of marketing for Archivas, a provider of digital archiving software (acquired by Hitachi Data Systems). Zaheer obtained his MBA and BS from the University of Hartford and University of Connecticut, respectively, and also attended Babson College's School of Executive Education. He is a former vice-chairman of the Storage Networking Industry Association's Data Management Forum, and serves as an advisory board member to the University of Connecticut's School of Business, Department of Marketing.
