The retail industry is undergoing a major transformation, changing how customers shop and how retailers run business. More and more retailers continue to invest in enhancing their operations by optimizing the personal experience of their customers. Given the fact that 70% of buying decisions are made on the spot, in-store promotion activities play a key role in contributing to a consumer's purchase intention, and digital signage displays use targeted messaging to influence customers' decision making. Advantech DS-570 ultra HD signage player, combined with RFID technology, can now interact with customers at the point of decision to create a personalized shopping experience.
Advantech DS-570, an Intel® Celeron® J1900 Quad-core based Ultra HD signage player integrated with RFID solution and management software, provides an intelligent interactive retail signage solution. Advantech DS-570 interacts with RFID tags on the merchandise. It can detect when a shopper picks up an item and plays back videos related to the selected product and can suggest recommended promotions on nearby displays. In this way, DS-570 provides media content specific to customers’ needs at the point at which they are making the decision to purchase. All content playback is logged real-time back to the WebAccess/IMM for online reporting. It can also collect data by counting tagged products being picked, and sense how long it takes the customer to purchase a product; sending all data back to the cloud to be analyzed. By using Advantech’s WISE-PaaS IoT software platform hosted on Microsoft’s Azure infrastructure, customer preferences and behavior predictions can be predicted which can help retailers’ proactively develop their promotion plans, more efficiently design their store layout, and generate big data insights and business intelligence.
