Avitus Group Goes Green With Paperless Payroll, E-Filing And Other Efforts; Encourages Client Companies To Go Green As Well

Not only has Avitus Group gone paperless with the company’s own departments such as payroll, recruiting and human resources; Avitus Group is also encouraging its client companies to use electronic processes to cut down on paper

(PRWEB) - Avitus Group, an international professional business services provider that helps companies simplify, strengthen and grow, is leading the way in the sustainability effort by going paperless everywhere possible and encouraging client companies to do the same.

“The numbers of employees we pay through our payroll services via direct deposit has risen by over 25% since 2015 alone and is now at nearly 88% overall,” says Avitus Group Payroll Manager Jewell Christensen. “Just between direct deposit, electronic payroll reporting and electronic hiring, we estimate we’re saving around 56,000 pieces of paper every month—over 670,000 per year.”

Avitus Group’s paperless efforts are widespread in various departments throughout the company and also among client companies.

“I believe our electronic document management effort has eliminated the printing of over 1 million pieces of paper per year overall,” says Avitus Inc. President Don Reile. "Companies are big consumers of energy and resources, so the more we can do to limit that use the better. We also recycle in the office and have automatic lights that turn off when someone leaves the room. Every little bit helps."

The Avitus Group payroll department uses electronic timekeeping, direct deposit and pay cards that reduce paper for timesheets and paychecks. Avitus Group prods it client companies to go paperless as well by offering direct deposit, pay cards and electronic reports. For customers wishing to print paychecks, Avitus Group offers the option for them to print their own remotely.

"The amount of paper we save by going digital for processes such as benefits enrollment and pay is simply staggering,” says Jodi Milliron, Avitus Group Director of Payroll and Benefits. “It’s a win-win when you also consider the time and effort we and our customers save.”

The Avitus Group recruiting department uses electronic hiring to eliminate paper resumes, work samples, packets and other onboarding materials. The human resources department uses online benefits enrollment and administration, greatly reducing paper use there. The tax department provides online I-9, W-2 and W-4 forms. Office-wide, document scanning and electronic filing has eliminated the need for paper files of any kind.

“Everyone has to do their part when it comes to sustainability, and that includes companies as well as individuals,” says Avitus Group Public Relations Manager Dianne Parker. “By going paperless wherever we can, Avitus Group has drastically reduced our paper usage.”
