Employers Health Insurance Uses Captiva Software to Leverage Technology into the Future

Employers Health Insurance (EHI) is a freestanding subsidiary of Humana Inc. and the tenth largest health insurer in the United States. With annual premium revenues of $1.5 billion, EHI specializes in health coverage through managed care contracts. They have over 1 million members nationwide, 18 sales offices, and 3,100 employees. In addition, EHI provides dental, group life, long-term and short-term disability coverage, and administers state health insurance plans for California and Iowa. As a result, the insurer processes over 65,000 paper claim forms a week, an operation that has been automated since 1993 through the use of Captiva Software's automated data entry software and intelligent character recognition (ICR) engine.
