Simplifile Announces 1,400th E-Recording County

Simplifile has announced its 1,400th e-recording county, Marion County, Ore., providing the clerk’s office and its customers with a faster, more cost-effective recording method online.

Marion County, OR (PRWEB) - Simplifile has announced its 1,400th e-recording county, Marion County, Ore., providing the clerk’s office and its customers with a faster, more cost-effective recording method online.

“E-recording benefits our county and our customers with efficiency, accuracy, speed, convenience, and security,” said Marion County Clerk Bill Burgess. “Our goals with e-recording are to improve customer service by significantly reducing wait times, and we expect to reduce our document mail-back costs by at least 50 percent.”

Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers ranging from title companies to banks, attorneys, and lien filers, can now scan or upload and submit documents directly to the clerk’s office. In minutes, the clerk’s office can review, stamp, record, and return the documents back to the submitter electronically.

Burgess added that with e-recording now implemented, his staff will “more quickly be free to wait on customers and deliver exceptional customer service.” This includes marriage licenses, passport applications, liquor licenses, and finding, copying, and certifying records as well as recording land record documents.

“Coming upon the May and November vote-by-mail elections, they will help our election staff with voter registration, issuing ballot packets, and tallying ballots, helping us finish and report earlier,” Burgess said.

Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, helping to reduce payment errors and eliminate check-writing expenses.

“It's a pleasure to provide e-recording in Marion County and to celebrate this milestone with them as our 1,400th county,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “We are truly thrilled for each new county that embraces this technology and the cost- and time-saving benefits that ensue for them and for their recording customers.”

Marion County is the fifth largest e-recording county in Oregon with over 322,000 residents. Marion joins 20 other Oregon counties that have also adopted Simplifile’s e-recording service.

High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin submitting documents for e-recording through Simplifile.
