Sherman County, Neb., is now e-recording land documents with Simplifile, enabling customers to submit electronic documents for faster, more efficient recording.

SHERMAN COUNTY, Neb. (PRWEB) - Nebraska has added its newest electronic recording (e-recording) jurisdiction, Sherman County, providing customers with an easy to use, online document recording service called Simplifile.

With e-recording available, the county’s recording customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, and other organizations will be able to submit documents from their computer, eliminating the need to use the mail or to drive to the courthouse to have documents like deeds and mortgages recorded.

“Simplifile’s service makes it possible for customers to have their documents recorded with Sherman County in a matter of minutes,” said President of Simplifile Paul Clifford. “No matter how big or small a county is, e-recording helps to decrease paper waste and mailing costs, and it also improves the overall efficiency of the recording process."

By simply scanning and uploading or electronically preparing land documents using Simplifile’s web-based service, customers are able to submit electronic versions of their original documents and can submit them directly to the county.

“In minutes the county receives, reviews, stamps, records, and returns the documents back to the customer through Simplifile, saving time and money,” Clifford added.

Recording fees and payments can also be sent to the county electronically through Simplifile via secure electronic funds transfer, eliminating check-writing expenses for submitters.

Nebraska now has more than 60 percent of its counties e-recording with Simplifile.
