Orbograph Leverages Silver Bullet's Ranger To Support Industry Adoption Of Payee Name Verification (PNV)

Orbograph, a premier supplier of recognition software for U.S. check and lockbox processing markets, as well as electronic/paper automation solutions in healthcare revenue cycle management, announced recently that its Desktop Check Analyzer (DCA) system, using Silver Bullet's Ranger API, is supporting industry adoption of Payee Name Verification (PNV).

Orbograph introduced DCA as a tool to help optimize positive pay systems using PNV functionality to reduce check fraud by identifying payee alterations. DCA scans business checks from corporate clients, generating images for the financial institution to test for high levels of automation and payee readability for the PNV matching function. If the checks are prone to fraud alterations or have poor readability, a report is generated for the client.

Silver Bullet's Ranger API is a software tool designed to allow applications like DCA to utilize a wide variety of check scanner types, including those manufactured by Burroughs, Canon, CTS, Cummins-Allison, Digital Check, Epson, MagTek, NCR, Panini, RDM and Seac Banche. Software developers enjoy the benefits of a single check scanner interface and the freedom to mix and match check scanner types.

The use of the Ranger API enables banks with a focus on reducing fraud and expanding corporate cash management services to utilize existing scanners to easily and seamlessly pre-test documents, helping streamline the implementation process dramatically," stated Joe J. Gregory, Vice President of Marketing at Orbograph.

"It's great to see an innovative capability like PNV with DCA grab attention in the market place," stated Bryan Clark, Chief Executive Officer at Silver Bullet. "Orbograph is a significant player in the check scanning industry, and we delighted to continue supporting Orbograph with this very unique solution offering."
