OMV Selects M-Files To Replace Legacy ECM Systems

Major Austrian Industrial Company Replaces Legacy ECM Providers with M-Files; Selects M-Files for Usability, Integration Capabilities and Compliance-Grade Solutions

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) - M-Files Corporation, a provider of solutions that dramatically improve how businesses manage documents and other information, today announced that OMV Group, an integrated international oil and gas company, has selected M-Files to replace most of the company's legacy enterprise content management (ECM) systems covering regulated documents.

As one of Austria's largest listed industrial companies, OMV Group has ensured Austria's energy supply for more than 60 years. The ability of OMV to optimize its oil and gas assets relies heavily on fast access to the most accurate versions of documents and data sets. OMV Group was using a combination of systems for managing its information assets, however, employees found these systems to be difficult to use, leading to low user adoption, and many continued to store files on internal network folders and local drives.

OMV sought out a new ECM solution that would encompass several thousand users among the company's operations in Norway, the UK, and its Austrian headquarters. After a formal RFP process that included intensive solution usability testing, OMV selected the M-Files enterprise information management (EIM) solution. Currently, M-Files has been deployed to OMV's upstream operations in Romania, Pakistan and Austria. Furthermore, M-Files has also been implemented for managing technical documentation related to OMV's refineries, and the solution also serves as the regulations and standards platform for the OMV Group.

"We did not want a complex ECM system that our employees would not use, and this is why we selected M-Files," said Florian Neuböck, Senior Project Manager of Enterprise Applications at OMV. "M-Files is not only very easy to use, but it's also easy to configure and administer in a manner that enables us to comply with strict regulatory requirements."

"A major key to competitive advantage and success in information-intensive industries, such as oil and gas, is the ability to quickly access and utilize the most accurate and up-to-date information," said Greg Milliken, vice president of marketing at M-Files Corporation. "By making it fast and easy for authorized employees to access the latest and most accurate information, OMV can focus their resources on doing what they do best: optimizing their oil and gas assets."
