Nuance Names Michael Rich To Lead Document Imaging Division
Nuance Communications, Inc., a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, recently announced Michael Rich as senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Document Imaging Division. Mr. Rich succeeds Robert Weideman, who has been named to lead Nuance’s Enterprise Division. Both Messrs. Rich and Weideman report to Paul Ricci, Nuance chairman and chief executive officer.
Most recently, Mr. Rich was senior vice president of worldwide sales for Document Imaging and Dragon, where he made significant contributions by strengthening Nuance’s sales management and processes. He has been a senior executive for more than 25 years, including executive roles with AT&T and NetSpeak, and more than ten years in document imaging solutions, including as president and chief executive officer at Equitrac.
Under Mr. Weideman’s tenure, the Nuance Document Imaging business was transformed from a desktop software business into a leading provider of enterprise document automation and workflow solutions. Nuance’s document imaging portfolio includes Nuance eCopy ShareScan scanning and workflow solutions, Equitrac print management and cost recovery software, and Nuance OmniPage, PaperPort, PDF Converter Professional and eCopy PDF Pro Office desktop applications.
The Nuance Document Imaging portfolio boosts personal productivity, increases departmental efficiency and streamlines enterprise workflows. It delivers an end-to-end solution that supports workflows from MFPs to desktop and mobile devices.
Nuance has global channel partnerships with nearly every MFP and scanning vendor, including Brother, Canon/Océ, Fuji Xerox, HP, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Ricoh/IKON, Visioneer and Xerox – each of which currently sells or bundles Nuance solutions through dealers or as part of Managed Print Services portfolios.
“Nuance Document Imaging is committed to delivering the industry’s most integrated solutions that streamline scan, print and PDF workflows and help our partners achieve greater differentiation in customer engagements. I look forward to working with our many valued partners to create growth in our businesses by helping our customers increase worker productivity, automate business processes and reduce costs,” said Mr. Rich.
