North Carolina Department Of Labor Picks ImageSoft To Provide Content And Case Management Solution

The North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) has chosen ImageSoft, Inc., of Southfield, Mich., to implement a content and case management solution to streamline and improve its business processes across the enterprise. The NCDOL employs 400 people in 20 divisions and bureaus throughout the State to enforce and enhance workplace safety.

ImageSoft will deliver an integrated Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system to replace the department’s existing legacy system, which is no longer supported by the vendor.

The new ImageSoft OnBase solution will provide a central document repository for storing and managing allthedepartment’s content – both structured and unstructured – including documents, forms, email, photos and other information.ImageSoft will also handle migration of legacy content from the existing ECM system to the new OnBase solution and provide training, technical support and system maintenance.

Once implemented, the ImageSoft solution will enable information to be accessed quickly and easily, even from remote locations, to foster improved communication and faster, easier information sharing throughout the department’s multiple business units. The result will be   expedited and improved service for the companies and individuals who interact with the NCDOL. The solution will also provide significant efficiency gains and cost savings to NCDOLby replacing the agency’s now paper-based files and processes with digital files and automated workflow.

Beyond ECM, ImageSoft will also implement a Case Management solution to improve

operational efficiencies and data tracking in key areas of the NCDOL, and a Document Composition tool to provide automated document generation to replace the department’s existing ad-hoc methods of creating documents.

This initiative was driven by NCDOL’s IT Division, with the strong support ofCommissioner of Labor Cherie Berry.  Chris Lehenbauer, the applications services team leader, commented: “Our Commissioner’s focus is improving workplace safety in cooperation with North Carolina businesses.  We are constantly looking for ways to work more efficiently and effectively so that we can improve our excellent statewide safety record without negatively impacting businesses.  We are confident that ImageSoft and OnBase will make it easier for businesses and citizens to interact with us, and for us to provide more of the services we offer to the state, at a lower cost.”

ImageSoft was awarded the new business following its response to an RFP issued by NCDOL in November 2011. Work on the project is currently underway with the first phase expected to be completed in mid-year 2013.
