M-Files Uses Its Intelligent Information Management System To Achieve ISO Quality And Security Certifications

Company easily achieves certification using its own solution, which enables any business to embed best practices, standards and risk management in daily work

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) - M-Files Corporation, the intelligent information management company, today announced it has achieved recertification for ISO 9001:2015, the world's leading quality management standard, and maintained its ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate for the information security system associated with its cloud operations. M-Files is one of only a few select vendors in the information management space that has achieved both of these certifications, and in particular, by deploying its own information management and QMS product.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification recognizes M-Files for the quality management system (QMS) the company uses for its core business processes related to designing, developing, delivering and supporting information management software and related services. Unlike prior ISO 9001 editions, which focused on the requirements for effective quality management in an organization, the new ISO standard requires organizations to proactively evaluate and address potential risks that may be present in daily operations.

M-Files also renewed its ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for the information security system the company uses for its cloud operations. The company performs regular internal and external audits of its systems and processes to ensure it maintains compliance in managing its customers’ data and services. The success of these annual audits continues to prove the reliability and security of M-Files as a service provider of information management solutions in the cloud.

To achieve these certifications and ensure its quality and security policies and procedures are followed throughout its operations, M Files has implemented its own compliance and quality management solution, M-Files QMS. M-Files QMS is purpose-built to not only document the policies and procedures with which an organization must comply, but also to ensure that they actually follow them day-to-day, while also automatically collecting evidence to quickly and easily prove compliance when required, such as in an audit.

"M-Files is succeeding in the market by making formerly complicated and highly-specialized information management capabilities, particularly those associated with compliance and quality management, available to any business," said Miika Mäkitalo, CEO of M-Files. “We've taken that to heart by using our own solution to comply with the very same demanding standards required by many of our customers. We don’t just see this as offering a better solution to the traditional markets for compliance and quality management solutions, rather, we’re committed to truly enabling essentially any company to benefit from proven quality and risk management processes by embedding them in the very tools users readily adopt to make their daily work easier."

According to Kiwa Inspecta, the organization that performed the independent audit, M-Files has globally harmonized processes, procedures and tools as well as transparent planning and reporting. In addition, the auditors found at M-Files a unified, quality and security minded company culture that employs well-structured onboarding practices. Using its own solution to create a certified quality and information security management system (ISMS), M-Files has been able to efficiently extend its quality management and security policies throughout its headquarters in Finland and the United States, as well as its new subsidiaries in France and Canada.

“M-Files has shown strong commitment to fulfilling the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001, and a spirit of continuous improvement,” says Tuukka Haarni, lead auditor at Kiwa Inspecta. “Any observed deviations and improvement possibilities are promptly addressed, and the needed process adjustments carried out efficiently.”
