M-Files Partners With FileFacets To Unlock Information In Key Business Systems

FileFacets Connector Technology Provides Access to Content and Data in OpenText, Documentum, IBM FileNet, and Others via the M-Files Intelligent Metadata Layer.

Dallas, TX and Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) - M-Files Corporation, the intelligent information management company, today announced a partnership with FileFacets, a data discovery and enterprise analytics company that also develops data connectivity and migration technology.

FileFacets specializes in advanced data discovery and content search for structured and unstructured data across corporate networks, servers, content management systems, email, desktops and laptops. M-Files is partnering with FileFacets to provide connectors to external systems via the Intelligent Metadata Layer (IML) available with M-Files 2018. IML delivers a unified interface that allows users to easily access and manage documents and other information stored in a variety of business applications and repositories, including network file folders, ECM and CSP systems, file sharing services, CRM and ERP systems and more. In addition to providing immediate direct access to data in these systems, M-Files can enrich it with metadata to establish context and relevance, such as a relationship to a customer, project or case, and enable information management capabilities, such as version management, advanced security permissions, check-in/check-out, workflow and collaboration.

“M-Files has taken a leading position in driving information management toward a future where the physical location of files and other information is no longer relevant,” said Chris Perram, CEO at FileFacets. “In an age where data resides in scores of business applications, and maintaining security and compliance is increasingly difficult, enterprises need simple-to-use solutions that put all their business information at their fingertips.”

Connectors available with M-Files 2018 and IML based on FileFacets technology include:

  • OpenText Content Server
  • Laserfiche
  • IBM FileNet
  • Documentum
  • eDocs
  • iManage

“Migrating massive amounts of documents spells the end to many information management initiatives,” said Mika Javanainen, VP of product management at M-Files. “With M-Files 2018 and the Intelligent Metadata Layer, M-Files eliminates the need for expensive migration projects. Instead, businesses can choose connectors to the applications most important to them, and get immediate access to all their content and data without migration and without disturbing existing systems and processes as well as the users that depend upon them.”
