M-Files Enterprise Information Management Solution Microsoft Azure Certified

M-Files Selected to Participate in the Launch of the Microsoft Azure Certified Program at the TechEd Europe Conference

M-Files Corporation, a provider of solutions that dramatically improve how enterprises manage documents and other information, recently announced that the company's enterprise information management (EIM) cloud solution is certified to run on Microsoft Azure.

The Azure Certified program was introduced during the Microsoft World Partner Conference in July and the Microsoft Azure Marketplace launched today at the TechEd Europe Conference,Microsoft’s premier technology conference for IT Professionals and Enterprise Developers. The Azure Certified program was created to certify applications and services from Microsoft partners for the Microsoft Cloud OS fabric. Partners can qualify for the Azure Certified program by certifying that their applications or services run on Azure Virtual Machines according to published requirements. Applications and services that meet the requirements of the Azure Certified program have been pre-tested by both Microsoft and the publisher to run on Azure.

Being Microsoft Azure Certified, companies can easily find, purchase and deploy M-Files from the Azure Marketplace. In addition, current M-Files customers can ensure technical compatibility for transitioning their existing M-Files licenses to run on Azure.

"The Microsoft Azure Certified program enables us to provide our customers with the ability to quickly implement M-Files on Azure Virtual Machines, which will enable them to get up and running much faster than traditional on-premises deployments," said Mika Javanainen, senior director of product management at M-Files Corporation. "As an Azure Certified solution, our customers can manage the service themselves, with full control over the system configuration, including the flexibility to configure different integration interfaces."

“Solution providers like M-Files are pivotal in the cloud transformation,” said Mike Wickstrand, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft. “With Azure Certified applications such as M-Files, companies can bring their mission-critical workloads to the cloud with Azure and feel confident knowing they have been thoroughly vetted by Microsoft and the publisher for compatibility with Azure."

The M-Files enterprise information management solution has been available as an Azure-based SaaS application since 2011, with flexible licensing models supported by Azure. In addition to the SaaS service, the new virtual machines can contain pay-as-you-go user licenses. Alternatively, customers can install their existing on-premises licenses to Azure Virtual Machines, making migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud easy and cost-efficient.

Azure provides numerous benefits to customers running the M-Files EIM solution in a cloud environment, including:

  • Scalability: Azure provides M-Files with virtually unlimited scalability. Azure enables scaling from very small implementations of only a few users to extremely large deployments with hundreds of thousands of users.
  • Storage: Azure not only provides flexibility in choosing the level of storage a business needs to minimize costs, but also for quickly scaling up when more storage is needed. The business pays only for what is used and is assured there will always be quick access to more capacity when needed.
  • Reliability: Powered by Azure, services such as storage, power, and network connectivity are highly fault-tolerant and redundant. Additionally, customers can improve the availability of the service by leveraging the replication features in M-Files, and/or by leveraging the “AlwaysOn” availability groups offered in SQL Server 2014 Enterprise Edition.
  • Integration with existing business systems: M-Files is tightly integrated with the Microsoft core product stack, SharePoint and the Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics product families.
