DocuLynx Introduces Azure Agent To Simplify Cloud Storage Decisions

New tool helps CIOs determine which data should be migrated to the Cloud based on external attributes; enterprises will achieve greater cost efficiencies by moving their data to a second tier

DocuLynx, the leading provider of end-to-end information archiving solutions, recently announced the introduction of Azure Agent, a new assessment tool that will help CIOs better evaluate the cost effectiveness of Azure and StorSimple for second-tier storage. Azure Agent will answer one of the most pressing questions when it comes to evaluating second-tier storage solutions, namely: “What should be moved to the Cloud and where is the data located?”

The Azure Agent takes just minutes to install. It analyzes server data and delivers customized reports that help to easily identify which data should be moved using external attributes and policies set centrally. Using the tool’s analytics along with the ROI calculator, CIOs can quickly estimate how much they will save over multiple years.

“In many organizations, data is typically increasing 30 percent year over year, and costs are mounting. Second-tier data storage costs are approximately 25% of on-premise storage costs, and 65% of data stored on primary storage is inactive,” said Michael Liess, DocuLynx President and CEO. “As storage solutions become targets for ‘refresh,’ the time is right to consider Cloud storage. By differentiating data based on its external attributes, DocuLynx Azure Agent helps CIOs identify which data should be moved to secondary storage - the goal of any CIO looking to achieve significant cost savings with the least risk.”

Azure Agent also provides additional functionality beyond the initial analysis. It can be used to monitor data on a continuous basis as a stand alone tool. It can also be easily integrated into all DocuLynx data migration and content classification platforms.
