Camden NHS Comes To The Force In EPR

As one of the longest established healthcare providers in London, the Mental Health aspect of Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust has proud responsibility for a high density patient population spread across some 40 separate sites centered on St Pancras Hospital which itself has evolved from its Victorian beginnings as a work house.

The Challenge

ICT Director of Camden & Islington Foundation Trust, Peter Gooch, needed to create a paper - lite confidential EPR system integrated from hard copy records across numerous locations and departments. This system would not only archive information going back many years but also set new ongoing files in motion. The goal was to provide instant access to all relevant members of the medical community at large for maximum patient support whilst saving crucial time and space and meeting with the properly exacting needs of the CQC. As he says, “The bravest part was deciding when and where to start. After that everything fell in to place”.
