Automated Returned Mail Processing Solution From OPEX And CPT Provides Cost Savings And Efficiency For TMG Heath

TMG Health offers technology-enabled Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services for insurers, employers, health plans, and providers in the Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Medicaid Managed Care and Group Retiree health plan markets. Recently, OPEX Corporation and reselling partner, CPT Intelligent Technologies, announced the successful implementation of their returned mail processing solution resulting in an annual savings of $750,000 for TMG.

TMG receives approximately 150,000 pieces of returned mail annually.  Prior to the solution from OPEX and CPT, operators were required to manually open and key data from each mail piece, identify which type of documents had been returned, look up new addresses, open inquiries to research a person when needed, and follow various protocols depending on the Return to Sender reasons for the undelivered document. 

This time-consuming and tedious process required an excessive amount of manual paper handling resulting in a higher opportunity for errors and delays.  By automating their returned mail process, TMG set a new industry standard for future companies to benchmark against. Using an OPEX AS7200i to open and scan incoming envelopes and their contents, and OCR for AnyDoc as the data capture platform, the CPT system is able to identify who the envelope was sent to, what type of document was in the envelope, the reason why the USPS returned the piece as undeliverable, and if the USPS has provided a forwarding address.
