Acuant Certified Compatible With Panasonic Scanners, Streamlining Electronic Health Record Process

MedicScan Automates Information Capture and Verification without the Need for Additional Hardware

Acuant, the leading provider of credential management solutions, announced recently that Panasonic scanners (models KV-S1015c and KV-S1057c) are certified TWAIN compatible with Acuant’s MedicScan solution. This compatibility will enable hospitals and healthcare facilities to use Acuant’s software to scan patient IDs, such as driver’s licenses and medical insurance cards, using Panasonic scanners currently in the office without the need to purchase additional hardware.

With MedicScan, patient information, along with an image of a driver’s license and medical insurance card, is extracted and populated into all of the necessary demographics and insurance screens. “We are excited to offer a streamlined solution to medical facilities that will give them the infrastructure they need to quickly and cost effectively automate patient information capture using their existing Panasonic hardware,” said Yossi Zekri, President & CEO of Acuant. “This offers medical offices a solution to streamline patient intake without the need to purchase additional hardware.”

“We are happy to partner with Acuant to enable hospitals and healthcare facilities with a more efficient way to collect a patient’s medical information,” said Peter Bedell, Senior Business Development Manager of Panasonic System Communications Company of North America. “MedicScan’s compatibility with our Panasonic scanners provides medical offices the ability to simplify the patient information capture process.”

Acuant’s solutions are available to medical facilities throughout the U.S. through a network of partners and resellers including Aprima, eClinicalWorks and Greenway. MedicScan helps medical facilities streamline patient registration and workflow, reduce claim rejection, save time and labor cost, and improve the patient experience.
