Britannia Hotels was experiencing an increase in hotel bookings, and their staff was spending more and more time on administrative tasks rather than tending to other responsibilities. Additionally, guests were able to make reservations at any time -- 10 months or 10 minutes prior to their arrival, which did not allow for the staff to prepare for their booking or enter their details into the system. To combat this, Britannia Hotels decided to improve its reservation process by automating faxed bookings.
