ibml Launches First Solution For In-Line Recognition Of Global Languages

ibml recently announced the industry's first and only solution to recognize global languages in-line as part of document scanning, providing new efficiencies to document imaging users worldwide. The capability enables data in a range of global languages to be captured and managed as part of normal document scanning processes, without manual intervention.

This offering will be available internationally through NCR Corporation and other ibml business partners.

ibml's in-line global language recognition allows customers to capture data in multiple languages more accurately and quickly. This enables users to take full advantage of the process improvement features of ibml scanners, including document preparation savings and automated sorting at transport speed.

The in-line global language recognition is integrated into ibml's DocNetics image analysis and interpretation solution, and is powered by the VERUS optical character recognition (OCR) solution from NovoDynamics, Inc. VERUS provides the most innovative Middle Eastern and Asian language OCR in the world. It recognizes Arabic, Persian (Farsi, Dari), Pashto, Urdu, Hebrew, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean and Russian languages, including support for embedded English and French. The in-line global language recognition is available to users of the ibml SoftTrac Capture Suite running ibml scanners.

ibml's in-line language recognition solution allows customers to extract data in French, English and one other language comingled in the same batch. This enables customers to avoid the time and cost required to prep and process documents with multiple languages. The solution is ideal for functions such as applications processing, where applicants fill in documents using their native language.
