bay6 Boosts The Power Of Its Flagship ACH, Remote Deposit, And Check 21 Solution With The Integration Of A2iA CheckReader

bay6, LLC today announced that it has integrated A2iA CheckReader into its flagship product, BackOfficebay6. A robust check management solution for small and medium-sized businesses, BackOfficebay6 supports ARC, Remote Deposit and Check 21 processing. With the integration of A2iA CheckReader, BackOfficebay6 leverages A2iA's leading recognition engine to automatically capture the courtesy (CAR) and legal (LAR) amounts on checks. CAR and LAR recognition increases the efficiency of BackOfficebay6 while enhancing the power of BackOfficebay6's reporting and audit trail capabilities. A2iA CheckReader also reduces the risk of human error commonly associated with manual data entry because it virtually eliminates keystrokes, and it reduces the risk of check fraud commonly associated with ARC and Check 21 processing.

"bay6 considered other CAR and LAR solutions but chose A2iA over its competitors for several key reasons. A2iA CheckReader seamlessly integrates into BackOfficebay6, and the advanced image quality and usability analysis features it brings to the table are far superior. These features are vital to our customers because they reduce the risk of accepting fraudulent checks and they provide for better image acceptance by banks," said Victoria Stenberg, executive vice president of bay6, LLC. "A2iA shares our commitment to developing high-quality products that make a real difference for small and medium-sized businesses, including retail operations."

The all-in-one system enables a depository user to process all check forms through ACH or the Federal Reserve, managing the entire receipt-to-deposit cycle. It handles all common check processing functions, including endorsements, electronic check conversion, electronic deposit, re-presentment of checks returned NSF, and more. Checks are fed through a MICR reader/imager. The MICR data and images are captured as batches on the PC hard drive. After the data has been verified, the MICR batch is released to the bank. A2iA CheckReader reads the CAR and LAR from the image, and the extracted information is also stored in the database and retained on the depositor's hard drive. A full-check recognition engine, A2iA CheckReader can also locate and read additional check data simultaneously, including date, payee line and address block. A2iA CheckReader's sophisticated image quality and usability analysis features also decrease the risk of fraud for businesses and banks processing checks electronically.

By automating labor-intensive check processing tasks, BackOfficebay6 and A2iA CheckReader together reduce the time and costs associated with check handling. Daily trips to the bank can be eliminated, since all checks can be electronically presented for payment. Because check data is automatically extracted, eliminating the need for data entry, employees can focus on other tasks. Data can be easily accessed for future accounting, reporting, auditing and data mining purposes.
