When most people think of document capture, they picture pages being scanned or data being identifed on a document image. This is not surprising given the fact that most solutions and workflow diagrams in the document capture domain start with scanning. Wouldn't it be wonderful if documents magically appeared stacked perfectly in front of the scanner as these solutions suggest?
Unfortunately, that's not how it really works. The reality is, most paper enters an organization through the mailroom. Too often we forget all the steps necessary to get that mail ready to be scanned; which is a critical part of the document capture process.
