Arch Coal Selects Perceptive Software To Improve Workflow Automation Process

Perceptive Software, creator of enterprise content management solutions, announced recently that Arch Coal, Inc., a top-five global coal producer, will deploy ImageNow to simplify document management, imaging and workflow. Arch Coal will integrate Image Now with the existing Oracle Financials System, Oracle Human Resource Management System, and the Mincom Ellipse System for Accounts Payable.

Arch Coal's implementation of ImageNow will simplify current paper-based processes in Accounts Payable and Human Resources. Patented LearnMode technology will allow ImageNow to integrate with Arch Coal's internal business applications enabling users to retrieve supporting documents from their desktop instantly.

"Arch Coal selected Perceptive Software because of its ease of use, with a timely and cost-effective implementation approach," said Dave Hartley, vice president and CIO, Arch Coal. "As we strive for continuous process improvement, particularly in removing technology user pain - ImageNow enables us to do just that."

Arch Coal's Human Resources Department will utilize ImageNow to enable electronic storage and retrieval of HR employee files. Applicant and personnel documents will be captured, stored and accessible electronically, enabling HR staff to retrieve a resume or answer a payroll question instantly and directly from their desktop.

"Scanning and linking active employee records with ImageNow will reduce hours spent retrieving and searching through paper-based employee files," said Sheila Feldman, vice president, human resources. "ImageNow will also enable automating the process for submitting and approving employee changes; resulting in faster turnaround and improved accuracy."

For Accounts Payable, invoices will be scanned into ImageNow using IntelliCapture to enable invoice line item recognition and data extraction for non-PO invoices. Workflow simplifies the process by routing for electronic payment approval. Replacing the paper-based process will improve document tracking and visibility and eliminate delays in the Accounts Payable process.

"ImageNow will reduce the administrative efforts to verify and key data into our accounts payable system and improve the approval process with workflow automation," said Greg Szczepan, Controller.

Perceptive Software is a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN).
