AnyDoc Software, Inc., an award-winning developer of automated document, data capture, and classification solutions, announced recently that it has certified the OPEX DS1225 scanner for use with AnyDoc Software's solutions.

The certified integration ensures seamless performance between the OPEX DS1225 TWAIN-driven scanner and AnyDocCAPTUREit for remote and local document capture, including output to AnyDoc Software's complete suite of products.

The DS1225 is a mid-volume production scanner which eliminates the need for a separate document preparation process. Documents can simply be dropped on the conveyor and automatically aligned, flattened, and imaged regardless of variable sizes and thicknesses. This simplifies the processing of nearly any business document, including providing one-touch payment processing of transactions featuring the mix of checks, remittances, and correspondence. In a single step, the DS1225 can scan, capture, read check MICR code, print an audit trail, and sort checks from other documents.

The DS1225 is the first OPEX scanner to incorporate TWAIN drivers. Completely integrated with AnyDoc CAPTUREit, all features inherent in the TWAIN interface are supported for maximum value and productivity. DS1225 features such as magnetic MICR, inline recognition, and document sorting are built into CAPTUREit's user interface so that no scripting is required, ensuring ease-of-use and a low cost of ownership. This complements AnyDoc's earlier integration with the OPEX AS3690i high-volume production mail scanner and OPEX CertainScan capture software.

In addition to a user-friendly design, with Virtual Multi-Stream, bi-tonal images can be created from scanned color or grayscale documents. This allows an unaltered color document image to be archived in a back-end repository in support of compliance requirements, and also creates a black-and-white document image which is optimized for use within OCR for AnyDoc to maximize data capture speed and recognition accuracy.

The integration also enhances performance by seamlessly transferring the metadata captured by the DS1225—such as the output bin, imprinter string data, and the check MICR code—to OCR for AnyDoc. Transferred data can be utilized to validate data captured independently by the recognition engines within OCR for AnyDoc. In this way, the document and transaction data captured at scan time provides increased visibility for each document in the workflow, maximizing accuracy and productivity without any manual intervention.
