Public and private sector organizations continually seek better and more efficient technology solutions for dealing with the complex mix of data, document-based, and manual processes that are used to drive day-to-day business practices in support of their customers and operational services. The eFIRST suite of products from Plexus has the capacity to address these business needs, from initial customer contact through to transaction archiving, including providing support for process-based requirements, and interacting interface issues that constitute the core activities of the business.

The eFIRST suite comprises of an integrated range of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) products: eFIRST Process provides the Business Process Management (BPM) components, and when delivered alongside eFIRST Capture, and eFIRST Archive provides the ability to integrate BPM at the centre of the company's overall ECM platform solution. The systems data capture and archive components facilitate the management of both structured and unstructured data, and deal with the data control, storage, and archiving elements of the eFIRST solution.

For the purposes of this particular Technology Audit we will be focusing on the process-driven capabilities of the BPM element of the eFIRST solution – eFIRST Process. However, eFIRST Process has now extended beyond central core BPM functionality to take in process intelligence, Business Activity Monitoring (BAM), and external data management capabilities, and therefore we feel that it is of value to highlight the end-to-end data management functionality of this fast-moving process management solution.
